TORRINGTON –SCHOONMAKER – S. Marie (Gant) Schoonmaker, who lost her loving husband, Clark Turner Schoonmaker II of 63 years on November 10, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007 surrounded by her family. Born March 22, 1921 in Chanute, KS; the daughter of the late John and Sybilla (Friesberg) Gant. She moved here in 1946 with her husband Clark, then in the 80’s she and her husband moved to Flordia only to return back home to CT in 2001 to be closer to their family. Marie was employed by Hurley Manufacturing in New Hartford as well as Holiday Handy Crafts in Winsted for many years. Marie was a devoted homemaker raising her children. She was a wonderful cook and baker.
