COLEBROOK -STUART – James M. Stuart III, of Smith Hill Road, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007. He was the loving husband of Anne (Kumetis) Stuart for 60 years. Born September 26, 1925 in New Britain, CT; the son of the late James Stuart II and Laura (Turner) Stuart. He served as a Sgt and Tank Commander in the United States Army for the 3rd Armored Division during World War II battling in Normandy, Omaha Beach, Ardennes and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a highly decorated solider and some of the decorations received were the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Purple Heart, the Silver Service Star and the Belgian Fourragere. He started in 1947 for SNET and worked with them for 35 years retiring in 1982 as a Foreman. In addition to his devoted wife, Anne, he is survived by two sons, James Stuart IV of Colebrook and Mark Stuart of NY; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Dick Stuart and a sister, Peggy Parker.
