Toots was born in Centerville, MT on November 1, 1921 to Robert and Mildred Klasner. She attended Stockett and Centerville Schools, and went on to Great Falls Commercial College. She played piano at her local high school, as well as with Buck’s Orchestra, Andy’s Orchestra and Klasner’s Nite Spot Orchestra. She left for Seattle at the start of World War II and worked at Boeing Aircraft and Metro Goldwyn Mayer as a cashier and bookkeeper in the distributing office. There she met her beloved Ralph and upon their return to Great Falls they were married July 29, 1944. While he was in the service, she worked in various locations around the country: Alexandria, LA; as a resident inspector of Naval operations at St. Louis, MO; at Wisco Hardware in Madison, WI as a billing machine operator; the School of Journalism in Arkansas.

After the war, they moved to Long Beach where she worked as a bookkeeper for J.F. Langar Co. In 1946 they returned to Stockett and Great Falls to work in the Nite Spot. Her son Mark Adrian was born June 7, 1949. In 1952 they moved to Giffen Ranch and ranched until 1989. Neal Robert was born July 1957.

Toots was secretary at the Stockett Community Bible Chapel and a pianist there for many years. She also belonged to Centerville Seniors.

Survivors include her sons, Neal (Linda) Singles of Nampa, ID, and Mark (Rose) Singles of Las Vegas, NV.

Those who preceded her in death include her husband Ralph, both parents, and her brother Tom.
