Harvey Ellis Davis was born August 31, 1931 to the late Martha Naomi Davis and Cronis Genore Maness in Robbins, NC. He was raised by his Grandparents, the late Mary and Luther Davis and his Aunt, the late Grace Davis. He departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst NC.

He graduated from Pickney High School. He joined Long Leaf A.M.E. Zion Church in Robbins, NC at an early age.  He later moved his membership to Westside Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Chairman Deacon, and Choir Member. He also worked as a Custodian for the church for several years. He was an active and faithful member there until his health began to decline.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.

He married the late Louvene Brower on December 26, 1953. There were nine children. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Keith Elmorris Davis and Son-In-Law Leon Person.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: Otis Brower (Jo Ann) Parma, Ohio, Wanda Farmer (Maurice), Judy Person, Catherine Farmer, all of Robbins, NC, Armelia McLaughlin, Greensboro, NC, Larry Davis (Netta), Carrie Caddell (Robert), Robbins, NC, Arvilla Davis, New Jersey.  Sister-in-laws, Anna Louise Powell, Elizabeth City, NC, Lucille Brower of Bennett, NC, a special cousin/brother Melvin Davis (Doris), Robbins, NC; a Goddaughter Tonya Dowd, Robbins, NC, 27 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
