Janis was born on April 24th 1954 in Provo, Utah to Stanley and Beverly Stott, whom she loved and honored. She met Charles Pearson in Choteau, Montana, they fell in love and were married for time and all eternity in the Cardston, Alberta LDS Temple on May 21st, 1974. She loved being able to raise her family on a farm along the Rocky Mountain front in Fairfield, Montana. Charles and Janis were blessed with seven children and twenty-four grandchildren, whom she dearly loved and selflessly served. She loved her family and grandchildren more than anything in the world. She was her children’s best friend.

Janis lived in numerous places growing up, eventually graduating from Choteau High School in 1972. She graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Interior Decorating from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. In 2000 she began working as a Teacher’s Aide at Fairfield Public Schools and enjoyed her colleagues and friends there. Her main focus was as a wife, homemaker, and mother.

Janis was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and faithfully served in many positions. She was a true disciple of Jesus Christ who quietly served others. She did not seek fanfare; it was enough if the Lord knew she was doing what she could. She found great strength in daily scripture study, prayer, and striving to keep the Lord’s commandments. She always encouraged others to be their best and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janis is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Emilee (Kelly Atkinson) and Lacee (Luke Nugent); sons, Nels (Andrea), Chase (Krista), Chad (Misti), McKay (Ashley), and Tate; 24 grandchildren; parents, Stanley and Beverly Stott; brothers, Jim, Jay, Jack, and Joel Stott.
