Ernest L. Wolford, 85, of 220 East Eighth Street, Watsontown and a resident at Kramm Health and Rehabiltation, Watsontown for the past six weeks, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born December 28, 1922 in Milton, he was the son of the late John and Irene (Augenbach) Wolford. On April 21, 1946 he married the former Mary H. Lupold at the Zion Lutheran Church, Milton and they have celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Mr. Wolford attended Milton Area Schools and served in the US Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He retired from Shippers Car Line, Milton after 33 years of service and had previously worked at Montgomery Mills and Watsontown Brick Yard.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Jeannie Wolford, Junction City, KS; Scott Wolford, Watsontown; and Kim and Debra Wolford, New Columbia; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Elva Mazell, Milton.
