Donald R. Hilkert, 75, of DeGreen Road, Danville, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Grandview Health Home where he had been admitted yesterday.
Born August 20, 1932 in Limestone Twp., Montour County, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Pearl A. (Speck) Hilkert.
On March 17, 1955 he married former Tressie J. Fetzer and they have celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Don attended Turbotville schools and he served in the US Army. He was employed at TRW, Danville and owned and operated a farm machinery business at his home in Montour County for many years. He enjoyed driving his truck and tractor pulls.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and son-in-law: Donna Snyder and Linda and Brian Llewellyn; a son and daughter-in-law: Donald E. and Michelle Hilkert; six grandchildren: Whitney and Colby Snyder, Brent and Lauren Llewellyn and Owen and Shana Hilkert, all of Danville; two sisters: Adah Aunkst of Dewart and Anna Marie Murray and her husband John of Muncy; and a brother, Gerald Hilkert and his wife Alice also of Muncy.
He was preceeded in death by his brother, Harold D. Hilkert.
