Clayton D. “Stringbean” Snyder Sr., 58, of Hughes Road, Watsontown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 13, 2008 in the emergency room of Muncy Valley Hospital.
Born June 18, 1949 in Delaware Twp., Northumberland Co., he was the son of the late Gusty C. and Anna Mae (Love) Snyder, Jr. On October 23, 1976 he married the former Roberta K. Sampsell and they have celebrated 31 years of marriage.
He has worked nearly 37 years at Andritz, Muncy and also owned and operated C. Snyder Tire Recycling at his home the past 10 years. For the past 15 years he also worked at the Lycoming County Fair, mainly at the 4-H entrance gate.
Earlier in his life he raised horses. He loved visiting with friends and was always eager to help lend a hand to anyone. A loving husband and father, his most precious times were those spent with his four grandsons.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons: Clayton D., Jr. and Christopher E. Snyder, both at home; a daughter and son-in-law: Nichole D. and Eric Oberdorf of Milton; four grandsons: Ian, Christopher Gusty, Zander, and Jacob; and two sisters: Ethel A. and Rodney Pentz, Watsontown and Donna M. and Charles Egli, Clarkstown.
