Zelpha Nester, age 90, of Parks, Arizona and formerly of Burt, died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Kachina Point Nursing Home in Sedona, Arizona. Zelpha Rae Pratt, the daughter of Francis Lee and Erma (Duckmanton) Pratt, was born on August 4, 1922 in Burt, Iowa. She graduated from Burt High School in 1940 and attended Mankato Commercial College. Zelpha was united in marriage with Earl Nester on April 25, 1943. Left to cherish Zelpha’s memory is a daughter, Connie Nester-Cole of Greensboro, NC; a son, Jerry Nester of Parks, AZ; a grandson, Larry Nester of Tucson, AZ; and nephews, Ron, Lowell and Kirk Nester of North Dakota and Steve, Mac and Greg Elvidge. Greg and his wife Rose reside in Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Marilda Elvidge.
