Zella Barringer Nichter, 80, a selfless, amazing, and loving steward to God, family, and friends began her new eternal life with God on June 13, 2013 when she passed peacefully in her home, with family by her side, after an extended illness.

Zella was born on May 12, 1933 in Indianapolis, and grew up in Scipio, Indiana, but spent most of her adult life in Anderson, where she influenced many for Christ by daily living out her Christian faith evidenced by the love, compassion, and kindness she bestowed upon others.

Zella was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, and amazing mother for 60 years. She also worked part time in the Anderson Community School Cafeteria for 34 years. She was also a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for countless years. Zella loved serving others.

Zella is survived by her sons, Ron Susan Nichter of Greenfield, and Don Barbara Nichter of Fishers, daughters, Cindy Tim Crump of Salem Oregon, and Brenda Darrin Earley of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Jared Ashley Nichter, Melanie Jason Kwast, Matthew Kathleen Crump, Heather Nichter, Hannah Nichter, Ethan Nichter, Austin Earley, and Logan Earley. Sister in-law, Norma Barringer.

She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Kenneth Nichter, Parents, Henry and Mary Barringer, step mother, Helen Barringer, brother, Bob Barringer, grandchildren, Benjamin and Jenna Nichter, niece, Pamela Barringer.

The family would like to thank caregivers Robin, Sharon, Charlotte, and Terri for all the wonderful care, patience, devotion, and love they bestowed. Also the family thanks the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospice Care.
