Zachary L. Spaulding, age 27 of Midland died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at his residence. The son of Donald Spaulding and Susan (Filcek) Hanley was born on December 2, 1985, in Midland where he was raised and educated. He enjoyed working for Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches for many years until moving to Colorado Springs, CO. Upon returning to Midland he then went back and continued working for Jimmy John’s. Currently, Zack was employed with Saginaw Control Engineering as a welder. He will always be remembered as a great big, loving, teddy bear type of man with a great sense of humor and a big heart for everyone. Zack enjoyed Frisbee Golf, Paint Ball, and electronic games.
Zachary is survived by his father, Donald (Julie) Spaulding of Kingsley; mother, Susan (Terry) Hanley of Midland; brothers, Kristopher (Leanne) Spaulding and Sean Hanley all of Midland; sister, Paige Legner of Bay City; nephews, Landon Brand and Tucker Spaulding. He will be greatly missed by his paternal grandfather, Ward Spaulding; maternal grandparents, Louis (Rita) Filcek and Kathlene Filcek; Great Grandmother, Frances Salva all of Midland; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Zack was preceded in death by their paternal grandmother, Sandra Spaulding.
