Yoshiko Otsuka Jensen died at the age of 86 Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Ft Walton Beach Hospital in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. Yoko, as she was affectionately known, was born June 18, 1928 in Saga, Japan to Moriichi Otsuka of Saga, Japan and Kayo Nagao of Takamatsu, Japan.
Yoko’s family moved to Fukuoka, Japan where she lived until she moved to the USA. Yoko met Eugene L. Jensen at a USO dance in Fukuoka; they fell in love, and were married on August 9th, 1955. That same year, they moved to the San Francisco Bay area, USA. In 1956 Yoko gave birth to their only child, Terry L. Jensen. Yoko gained legal status as a citizen of the US on December 4, 1962.
Yoko is survived by her husband, Eugene L. Jensen; son, Terry L. Jensen who lives in Chicago, IL; daughter-in-law, Kathleen A. Jensen also from Chicago, IL; grandson, Alexander L. Jensen from St. Louis, Mo; granddaughter, Keiko L. Jensen from Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Michaela L. Jensen from St. Charles, Mo, and granddaughter Megumi L. Jensen from Chicago, IL.
