Yolanda M. Nuccio, age 83, of Rome, passed away peacefully September 29, 2012.
She was born December 29, 1928, in Utica, a daughter of Vincent and Marian Roscigo Valerio, and graduated from Proctor High School in 1947. Yolanda was united in marriage to Dr. Dominick J. Nuccio, a blessed marriage of 62 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church.
Yolanda’s greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Yolanda’s life-long passion for singing started as a young teen in Utica, as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club. Throughout the years, her beautiful voice was heard at many local events. Her Church had a very special place in her heart and she was a long time member of St. Paul’s Church Choir.
Yolanda is survived by her husband, Dominick; two daughters and sons in law, Elaine and Gary Ruzanski of North Bay, and Liz and Andre Bertrand of Town of Lee; a son and two daughters in law, Dr. Douglas and Tamara Nuccio of North Bay, and Andrea Nuccio of Rochester; two sisters and a brother in law, Jean Gualtieri of Rome and Eleanor and Frank Tucciarone of Clinton; a brother, Victor Valerio of Utica; grandchildren, Ritch and Kirk Nuccio, Danielle, Dominick, Kirstin and Kelly Nuccio, Josh and Jake Ruzanski, and Lauren and Kimberly Donovan; and a great granddaughter, Kiley Nuccio. She was predeceased by a son, Dr. Robert F. Nuccio and a brother, Dr. Nobel Valerio.
