Xavier Christin Wullenwaber, son, grandson, nephew and friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 17th. He was 17 years old.
He loved and felt things so deeply. He was empathetic, compassionate, philosophical, and wise beyond his years. His ability to connect with people was a gift that made every friend feel like his family. He always wanted a sibling growing up, he gravitated to children and would become an immediate big brother, protector and friend to them. Game nights were a family bonding time from early on. We evolved from board games to logic-based games, to video games and dungeons & dragons. He loved anime and manga since he was little. He would often try to share that love and would try to find the perfect anime to get family and friends to share his passion. Xavier loved all music; pick a genre and he had a favorite song that fit within each one.
Xavier began his life in the Bay Area of California. He began playing football at age 7 and carried that with him to North Carolina. Although small in stature, he had the biggest heart and worked hard to show it on the field. Early on in his football career coaches would always rely on his bravery to set the example in drills. He hung up his cleats after an undefeated season his 8th grade year.
He is survived by his mom and dad; Donna-Jo and Peter Wullenwaber, along with a very large and loving family.
