Winona M. Secrist

Phelps (Vienna Gardens) formerly of Newark – Winona M. “Nonie” Secrist, 81 died Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

Mrs. Secrist was born the daughter of Edward and Edith Strong Mott in Newark on May 10, 1920. She worked for many years at Jackson & Perkins in Newark. She was an avid bowler and golfer for many years. Mrs. Secrist was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clifton Springs, Newark VFW Post 2883 Ladies Auxiliary, Stamp Club of Geneva and the Wayne County Humane Society. She had also sold Avon for many years.

Mrs. Secrist is survived by her sons Kyle (Kim) Secrist of Perry, New York and Todd (Kathy) Secrist of Ohio; daughters Ruth (Frank) Chiarilli of Spencerport, New York and Kathryn (Eric) Gates of Arizona; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother George (Betty) Mott of Penfield; many nieces and nephews, very good friends Don and Nedra Osborne. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond E. Secrist in 1988.
