Winnifred L. “Winnie” Wine, 87, of Freeport, died April 5, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital.

Born November 6, 1924 in Austin, Minnesota she was the daughter of Roy E. and Pearl E. (Green) Anderson. Winnie graduated from Oelwein High School in 1943. She married Raymond L Wine on April 14, 1946 in Oelwein, Iowa. Ray died April 25, 2004.Winnie was a hospital volunteer with over 4,000 hours of service. She enjoyed fancy cookie baking, knitting, sewing, ceramics, bridge, golf, bowling and needlework. A member of Embury United Methodist Church she served in the choir for 43 years, as choir librarian and Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are her daughter, Pam (Greg) Grambow of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; her son, David (Ana) Wine of La Mesa, California; sister, Ruth (Gordon) Erickson of Solvang, California; grandchildren: Troy (Brooke Passick) Schleich, Misty (Judd) Thruman, both of Freeport; Dan (Suzi) Wine of Little Elm Texas; and Allan Wine, La Mesa, California; great grandchildren: Kaden Schleich, Abbott and Emmory Thruman, all of Freeport; and Andrew and Alison Wine, Little Elm, Texas; step granddaughters: Erin (Todd) Jex, Germantown, Wisconsin and Sofia Ingle, La Mesa, California; step great granddaughters: Lauren and Molly Jex, Germantown, Wisconsin; brothers-in law, Don (Mary) Wine, Des Moines, Iowa and Tom (Kathy) Wine, Davenport, Iowa; sister-in-law, Jessie Anderson, Arleta, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Roy Anderson, Jr.
