Winnie Mae Mayton, 88, of Dinwiddie, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Born on August 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harold Mayton and Thelma Wells Mayton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Mayton, II; sister, Nancy Cox; great-grandson, Maverick Harrison; and nephews, Michael Mayton, Ray Sprouse.
She was a devoted member of the West End Baptist Church.
Winnie is survived by her daughters, Terrie Harrison Vaughan and husband, Chuck, and Jeannie Credle and husband, David; son, Carlton “Sandy” Wayne Harrison; grandchildren, Carl Ladd and wife, Karen, April Vaughan Cassada, Lisa Neese and husband, Jeff, Laura Martin, J.R. Credle and wife, Casey, Samantha Harrison, Chelsea Harrison, and Elizabeth Harrison; sister, Sadie Effler; 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
