Winifred (Lake) Oldroyd, 89, a life-time resident of Milford, and beloved wife of the late Thomas L. Oldroyd, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Wyn was born on January 25, 1917 in Milford, CT, daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Eger) Lake. Artistically gifted, Wyn attended Traphagen School of Fashion, worked as a fashion designer for Conde Nast in New York City, and, later as an interior designer, and co-owner with her husband of “Our Shop of Decorative Home Furnishings”, on Broad Street, Milford. She was the proud granddaughter of Simon Lake, inventor of the submarine, who also resided in Milford.
