Winifred H. Grosnik “Jean”, age 85, passed away on November 24, 2006 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for more than a decade.

 

She was born on September 25, 1921 in London, England to the late Ellen and Horace Savage.  She served in the British Royal Air Force during WWII and met her lifelong partner, the late Otto M. Grosnik, at a USO event in Belgium.  Jean later moved to the United States where she married Otto and resided in Johnstown, Pa. In 1982 they relocated to Destin, Florida.    

 

Jean was a homemaker all of her life and a gifted seamstress.

 

Jean’s family wishes to thank the caregivers at Angel Tree House who cared for her for many years. Their kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.

 

She will be missed by her three children, Jeffrey Grosnik (Karen) of Russellville, KY, Brenda Royster (Skip) of Shalimar, FL, and Keith Grosnik (LeeAnne) of McKinney, TX.  She will also be missed by her grandchildren Jeffrey Grosnik, Jr. of Cordova, TN, Kristin White (Terry) of Mount Juliet, TN, Claude “Sandy” Royster IV of Fort Walton Beach, FL,  Jessica Royster of Auburn, AL, Lori Grosnik of Bowling Green, KY, John Grosnik of McKinney, TX and great grandchild,  Davis Jeffrey White of Mount Juliet, TN.
