Winifred Gloria Juarez, age 89, “Many Horses Woman” of Redby, Minnesota journeyed to the Spirit World from her home, surrounded by her family in Redby, Minnesota on May 24, 2017. She was born in Red Lake, Minnesota on March 13, 1928, the daughter of Joseph David Brown and Cecelia (Loud) Brown.

Winifred’s work career included working with the Red Lake Headstart and the Elderly Nutrition Program until she retired. Some of her interests and community involvement included singing with the Ojibwe Singers, attending the Wisdom Steps Program and working with the Title 4 Educational Committee. She loved going to pow-wows, traveling and camping. She enjoyed going to bingo and watching her old westerns. She loved all holidays, big family dinners and gatherings, but her most precious joy was her family. She will be dearly missed.

Family that she joins again are her parents; Cecelia and Joseph Brown, son; Peter Joseph Juarez, brothers; Elmer, Edward, Myron and McKinley Brown, sisters; Charlotte and Hazel Brown, and grandson; Levi Auginash.

She leaves behind her son; Gilbert (Vicki) Juarez of Redby, daughters; Rachele Donnell, Roberta (Beau) Johnson, Cecelia (Sam) Mondragon and Phyllis (Bill) Juarez all of Redby, Donna (Willard) YellowBird of Moorhead, Stephanie (Martin) Juarez and Theresa (Roger) Hoggarth, both of Fargo, ND, 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
