Windfred T. Leach, 80, of Pendleton passed away on August 7, 2013 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.

He was born on December 10, 1932 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky and resided most of his life in Pendleton. Windfred was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he received the 516th Military Police Service Company Commendation. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 35 years of service. After retirement he had worked at Lo Bill’s in Pendleton and later at the Pendleton Correctional Facility. Windfred was a member of American Legion Post 117 Color Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Haygood Leach; daughters, Connie Shapiro of Pendleton and Cathy Jeanne Goodman Leach of Thornton, IL; sister, Anna Helen Miller of Pendleton; brothers, William Owen Leach of Round Lake Beach, IL and Henry L. Leach of Owensboro, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Windfred was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Leach 2 sisters and 2 brothers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Rawlins House for their loving care and compassion.
