Wilma Yates Rouse Lasure Wilma Yates Rouse Lasure, 94, of Shinnston, passed away at United Hospital Center October 2, 2008. She was born August 6, 1914 in Kingmont, WV, A daughter of the late Benjamin Yates and Hattie Murphy Yates. Wilma has spent her last four years residing at Clarksburg Continuous Care Center of Clarksburg. She is survived by her daughter Pauline Hamrick and her husband Troy of Enterprise; 11 grandchildren Brenda and George Banko of Maryland; Edward Hall of Shinnston; Marlene Wilfong of Shinnston; Sharon Jones and husband Terry of Bridgeport; Troy Hamrick Jr. and wife Kim of Shinnston; Rebecca Rush of Shinnston; Fred Scott and wife Marilyn of Shinnston; Sandra and husband Jim Sigley of Barracksville; Vicki Buby and husband Lloyd of Mannington; Joe Scott and wife Pam of Owings; and Kim Wilson of Parkersburg; She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren; one niece Darlene Corbin Oerly and husband Jim of White Hall; Wilma was preceded in death by two husbands Fred Oren Rouse and Herman Otha Lasure; also preceded in death by one sister Delores Corbin; two daughters Geraldine Scott and husband Harold; Claudine Hall and husband Edward; three brothers Chester, Fred, Willard Yates; and 3 infant brothers twins Richard and Raymond Yates and Donald Yates; two stepchildren Richard “Butch” Lasure and Arnold Lasure; Wilma was very active, she bowled in several leagues at Comption Bowling Alley until the age of 88 and was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, she was also a member of the Whitehair Legislature, American Legion, Moose, and Shinnston Seniors. Wilma was a contestant in the Ms. Senior Citizen Pageant of West Virginia and was a friend to all.
