Wilma “Skip” Caroline Fite, 88, of Anderson, passed away on December 1st after an extended illness at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Center in Anderson.

She was born on September 15, 1924 in Fairmount, Indiana. While living at home she helped her father in his Polly Ann Bakery, and grandmother in her Clover Farm Grocery Store. Wilma was the Valedictorian of her Fairmount high school class of 1942, and graduated from Ball State University in 1946.

She married her husband, Don in 1945, and resided most of her life in Anderson. She was a Registered Nurse for St. John’s Hospital and retired as a Nursing Supervisor after 30 years of service. She was a member of Killbuck Retirees Club, several Euchre Clubs, Travel Clubs, Delco Fellowship Club and Victoria Guild. She was a big sports fan and especially enjoyed the Cincinnati Reds and Indianapolis Colts. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was a devoted Christian and loved her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Center and Keystone Woods Assisted Living Center.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Susan Ed Korlowicz of Anderson; and son, Randall Carol Fite of Middletown; grandchildren, Bryan Atha of Florida, Nathan Fite of Speedway, Haylee Scott Teeple of Indianapolis and Ryan Natalie of Noblesville; great grandchildren, Emilia, Cooper, Jackson and one on the way. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don L. Fite; son, Jerry L. Fite;parents, James and Velma Briles Couch; and brother Rex D. Couch.
