Wilma (Sledge) Jenkins, 101, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 2:03 PM at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Raymond Sledge and Ruby (Humphrey) Sledge. She married Kenneth “Kenny” Jenkins on March 14, 1942, in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1969.
Wilma is survived by a sister: Ann Maronski of Downing Town, Pennsylvania; a special caregiver: Brenda Hubbs of Centralia; family and friends at the Caddyshack; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Walter Sledge and Lester Sledge, and three sisters: Edith Ellis, Mabel Alvis and Mamie Simmons. Wilma owned and operated Jenkins Party Liquors with her husband Kenny until he passed in 1969. She continued to work at the Caddyshack until the age of 98 years old. She was a generous and loving soul. She will be missed by her family, friends and her Caddyshack family.
