Wilma Evelyn Gentry, 91, of Boise, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Grace Assisted Living in Boise, Idaho. Evelyn was born on January 30, 1921 in Star, Idaho to Belus and Mae Beauchamp. She was raised in the Canyon County area and graduated from Nampa High School in 1939. In 1942 she graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and that same year she married Stan Newman and together they raised three children, Gary, Sharon, and Vicki in Nyssa, Oregon. Evelyn worked most of her life as an RN at various hospitals, clinics, and then traveled with the Red Cross Mobile Unit in Boise. She enjoyed golf, bridge, and always loved having music around her.
In 1983 Evelyn married Ray Gentry and they moved to Rupert, Idaho.
Wilma is survived by her children, Gary Newman, Sharon (Chuck) Binder, and Vicki Binder; her grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Kinzer, Lance Binder, Traci Wright, Bret (Shannon) Binder; ten great-grandchildren; her step-children, Gary Gentry, Patsy Price, Claudia Meireis, and seven step-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother, Harold Beauchamp.
