Willis Hugh Welch, 83, of Kingwood, WV, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at his residence.

Willis was born July 3, 1933, in Albright, a son of the late Earl and Verna Mae (Feather) Welch.

He was a graduate of Kingwood High School and attended Shepherd College for two years. Willis was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he retired after working for Ford Motor Company for 31 years as a Transportation Analyst. He was a member of FFA and received the State Farmers award which is the highest award achievable in the organization.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Louise (Welch) Jefferys; three sons, Jeffrey Hugh Welch of Deerfield, OH, Gregory Warren Welch of Aurora, OH, Rodney Earl Welch of Kent, OH; one daughter, Sandra Mae Welch of East Solon, OH; one step-daughter, Donna Jefferys of Columbia, MD; one daughter-in-law, Sherri Jefferys of Terra Alta; one brother, Charles Darrel Welch of Bryan, TX; one sister, Gladys Lucille Allen of Wayne Shore, VA, ; nine grandchildren, Joey Slates, Sean Murray, Daniel Welch, Alex Welch, Jessica Welch, Rachael Welch, Angela Foringer, Rachel Henning, David Jefferys; one great-grandson, William Foringer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Elizabeth (Propst) Welch; one step-son, Bruce Jefferys; one brother, Kenneth Paul Welch; two sisters, Dortha Alfreda Folk and Kathryn Elaine Rose; one grandson, Adam Welch.

Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 6-8pm; on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 12:00 p.m.
