Willie Ray Hummel, 80, Anderson, died September 28, 2009 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson after extended illness. He was born September 27, 1929 in Clay County, Tennessee, and lived most of his life in this area. He served with the United States Army during World War II. Willie retired from St. John’s Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Isabell Sells Hummel; son, Donnie R. Hummel & wife, Ann of Markleville; sisters, Connie Taylor and Charlotte Foster; brothers, M.B. Hummel and Razell Hummel; grandchildren, Stephanie Hummel, Lindsey Hummel, Trisha Bair & husband, John C. Bair III; great grandchild, Kodie Bair; special cousin, Royce Hummel & wife, Mabel; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie & Martha Cherry Hummel and a brother, Junior Hummel. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:30 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St..
