She was born and raised in Lawrence County to parents Luke Sivley and Gola Mae Sivley, Stepmother Mamie Bond Sivley. She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband of 61 years Alton Richards, brothers Lowell Sivley, John Sivley, and Waymon Sivley, sisters Alice Lee Bass and Glenda Williams, son-in-law Farrel Lamon.

Children: Pat (Jerry) Lane, Judy Lamon, Mike(Linda) Richards, David (Anna) Richards
Grandchildren: Amanda Letson, Christie Burney, Monica Miller, Jarrett and Joshua Lane, Judson, John and Reece Richards.
Great grandchildren: Schyler, Alia, Lexi, Noah, Ezra, and Parker
Great great grandchildren: Chesney, Walker, Jace.
Mrs. Richards was a godly woman who loved her church and reading the bible.
The family would like to thank NHC nurses and staff for their care. They take great comfort in knowing she was well taken care of.
