William B. Wright “Bill”, age 83, of Jasper, AL, formerly of Huffman, passed away on June 11, 2011. Bill served in the Air Force during WWII. Upon returning from the service, he entered the automotive field, owning Bluff Park Self Service, Highland & 20th Street Self, Wright’s Brake Service and was associated with H&W Standard, 77th Street Shell and Hawkins Auto Parts before retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. During his life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; as his health declined, he became an avid reader of western novels. His favorite writer was Louis L’Amour. He also enjoyed long daytime rides through the countryside. His Boston Terrier Millie usually went along. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin & Maggie Wright; son, Ernest Lee Wright. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Gloria Wright; son, Lee Hutto (Hoover); daughters Valerie Beasley (Jasper) and Linda McMillian (Shelby Co.); grandchildren, Michael A. (Samantha) Beasley (Smith Lake), William Brandon Beasley (Jasper), Christy (Justin) Pender (Leeds), Leanna Hutto (Hoover); great grandchild, Brayden Beasley. Mr. Wright was the last of 11 children.
