William W. Hayes Mr. William Wavered Hayes, age 78 passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born October 25, 1937, to the late William Merrill Hayes & Opal Clark Hayes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Lee Hayes. His working career included Consolidated Freightways for 37 years and Panasonic for 9 years. William was a dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church for 43 years. He served as a Deacon from October 2, 1977, until he was recognized as Deacon Emeritus on December 13, 2013. He was also a youth department and Adult Sunday School Teacher; Sunday School & Church Training Director and Associate Director; Chairman of Deacons and Sanctuary Choir member. For 57 years he was a devoted husband to Verna Chambers Hayes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William Perry Hayes (Robbie), Lynn Hayes Winkles (Chet), Dawn Hayes Connally (Walker), and Joel Thomas Hayes (Valarie); grandchildren, Michelle Fowles (Buck), William Darrell Hayes, Christopher Dalton Connally, Dylan Hayes Connally, Nicholas “Nick” Tyler Winkles, Logan William Hayes, Noah Greylan Hayes; great-grandchildren, Mason Bradley Fowles, Ansley Elizabeth Fowles, Braxton Perry Fowles and sister, Patricia Hayes Manning.
