William T. “Bill” Bell, 73, Fishers, passed away September 24, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born March 16, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and resided in Fishers, Indiana.

He lived in this area most of his life He served with the U.S. Army with the rank of 1st Sergant followed by service in the Indiana National Guard and the Indiana Guard Reserve, where he was currently active. William worked for Delco-Remy Division of General Motors for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #209 where he was past exhalted ruler, life member of V.F.W. Post 266 and member of the honor guard, American Legion Post #117, Masonic Lodge, President of Madison County Civic Fraternal and Veterans Organizations.

He also coordinated the very first Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Parade in 1981. He is survived by his wife, whom he married August 12, 1995, Lois Smith Church-Bell; daughter, Kathy Bell of South Bend, IN and Kara Beamer of Anderson; stepsons, Bill Church of Fishers and Tony Church of Plano, TX; stepdaughter, Lana Moore of Pendleton; brother, Gerald Bell of California; sister, Joan Robert Prater of Anderson; grandchildren, Aaron Wellman, Zachary Beamer, Kiley Beamer, Cameron Church, Conner Church, Ryan Richardson & Reed Richardson; along with several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald I. “Pete” & Marguerite Smith Bell; sister, Lola Eileen Endebrock; and former wife, Jeanne Bell.
