William S. Weir, 87, Anderson, died May 27, 2003 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness. He was born April 26, 1916 in New Castle, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area since 1945. He retired in 1976 from Inland Fisher Guide Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of New Castle High School. He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre He was a member of Eastside House of Prayer in Anderson. He was a long time member of various local fraternal organizations including Moose, Eagles and Elks Lodge. He was a member of the UAW Local #662. He is survived by his Wife whom he married June 30, 1962: Geneva ”Jean” K. James Weir. Three Stepdaughters: Carolyn Cunningham of Muncie. Shirley Landers of Anderson. Diane & husband Michael Romine of Lakeland, Florida. Seven Grandchildren: Connie Strawberry, Barbara Ann Clark, Donna Landers, Scott Buger, Angela Romine, Timothy Romine and Gary Romine. Several Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded by his Mother: Ruth Evans Weir. Two Sisters: Carroll Pike and Crystal Bates. One Brother: Basil Ward Weir. Two Stepsisters. Niece: Ieeta ”Happy” Young. Nephew: Charles D. Weir.
