Obit William S.

William S. Blake of Hebron, NE was born November 12, 1939 at Iowa City, Iowa to Frank and Vivian (Kline) Blake. He departed this life Thursday October 14, 2010 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 70 years.

Bill grew up in the Ottumwa, IA area attending school and graduating from Ottumwa, IA High School with the class of 1958. After graduation Bill joined the National Guard, and worked in the family plumbing business. In 1959 he married Peggy Berrier in Ottumwa IA, this marriage was blessed with the birth of two children.

Bill enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles, roller skating, water skiing, later his hobbies change to farming, and tinkering with farm equipment.

Bill was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and in 1995 was admitted to Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE where he was active on the welcoming committee, and serving as vice president of the Residence Council.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one son Frank Blake and wife Sandra of Belvidere, NE, one daughter Tammy Taylor of Hubbell, NE, four grandchildren; Amber Wellman and husband Zach of Broken Arrow, OK, Dusty Blake of Hebron, NE, Chantel Andersen and husband Kelly of Hebron, NE and Dana Robinson and husband John of Lincoln, NE, six great-grandchildren; Breana Lamprecht, Hannah, and Seth Robinson, Gracie, Emma and Olivia Andersen, and Temperance Wellman, and a host of friends.
