William B. Riffe, age 86, of Marion, IN, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN.
He was a pastor in the Church of Christ for sixty-five years, and was an elementary school teacher for thirty-two years. He graduated from Mount Mission High School, Grundy, VA, and received his degree in Theology from Kentucky Christian College, as well as a Masters Degree from Bluefield State College, Bluefield, WV.
He had to have his leg amputated at the age of thirteen because of cancer. He loved to spread the word of God, becoming an ordained minister at the age of sixteen.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Vernon Buzz) Charles, of Marion, IN, and Paula (Donnie) Massey, of Midway, GA; granddaughter Pam (Paul) Compton, of Tipton, IN; three great-grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher) West, of Indianapolis, IN, Amber (Josh) Shoemaker, of Leisure, IN, and Danielle (James) Schroeder, of Chicago, IL; great-great-grandchildren, Malachi and Eden Shoemaker. He was preceded in death by sisters Ruby Pruitt and Minnie Pierce; brothers Gus and Lawrence Riffe.
