William Raymond “Bill” Combs, age 82, of Igo Ridge Road, Wellington, a longtime resident of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1936, in Winchester, a son of the late William Bryan Combs and Ida Mae Garrett Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Combs and Elmer Y. Combs, and two sisters, Mary Ruth Combs Raney and Della Mae Combs Williams.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kay Fraley Combs of Wellington; a daughter, Terri Lynn Hoover (David); a grandson, Patrick Hoover; a granddaughter, Meegan Foster (Scottie); two great grandchildren, Brayden and Lorryn Foster, all of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was a jet engine mechanic for the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1961 stationed in Mobile, Alabama, taking him to Iceland, Greenland, Haiti, and other places over the course of his employment.
