Mr. William Ray White, Sr., 94, a resident of Valley, AL passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 in Valley.

Mr. White is survived by three children, Janis Douglas Parsons (Jim) of Athens, AL; Doug White (Pattie) and Steve White (Beth) both of Valley; grandchildren, Jim Douglas, Jr. (Amy), Michael Douglas (Lindsay), Derrick White (Leonna), Daniel White (Christina), Andrew White (Ashley), Dottie Lake (Shane), Mark White (Dr. Supriya Donthamsetty), David White, Adam White (Angela) & Noah White; great-grandchildren, Jay Douglas, Mary Margaret Douglas, Harper Jane Douglas, Jack Douglas, Axel White, Taylor White, Luke White, Olivia White, Katie Beth Wilkerson, Kwinn Lake, Priya White, Ashok White, Zubin White, Asher White & Ava Grace White; sister, Reba Muller of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter-in-law, Willene Nixon of Lanett; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Barbara Colley and Anthony & Nita James.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Sue Wallace White, son, William Ray White, Jr.; his second wife Bettye Ray White and a sister, Eleanor Lantrip.

Mr. White was born on November 20, 1921 in Hartselle, AL and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He retired from West Point Pepperell.  Mr. White loved to travel both in the United States and abroad, and was a lover of history.  He played on the state championship football team at Hartselle High School.  He also coached little league baseball in West Point and liked golf.  He was a member at Langdale United Methodist Church.
