William Ray (Bill) McGarity of Moreland, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at age 73.
Bill was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 5, 1946. He was the son of the late John E McGarity and Mary L McGarity. Like so many young men, Bill served in the United States Army during the years of the Vietnam War. Later, Bill’s career choices placed him in service of the Atlanta Gas Light, where he managed customer service and bankruptcy claims. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time with family and friends. He was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church, working with the Helping Hands Ministry and other projects. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen F McGarity (Yates). He had one son, Brian L McGarity, and two grandchildren, Jake and Erin McGarity.
