William R. Hayward, 77, of Middleton passed away Monday, April 25, after a brief illness. Bill was born in Needham and was the husband of Beverly (Mann) Hayward with whom he shared fifty-six years of marriage. He was the son of the late Nathan and Muriel (Hoelzel). William was a veteran of the Army Reserves and also of the National Guard. He completed the Radiology Technician program and worked at Lawrence General Hospital and soon after was employed at the Clover Hill Hospital. The radiologic career was short lived when Bill decided to work for Avco-later turning into Textron as a Non-Destructive Test Technician. After retiring from Textron he found great joy in working at the local Richardson’s Ice Cream.
