Mr. William Parks Cole, 74, of Newnan passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his home. He was born October 19, 1940 in Newnan to the late Dr. Malcolm Henry Cole and Louise Parks Cole.

He will be remembered for his love of family and his adoration of his grandchildren. Parks loved growing up in Newnan where he was surrounded by family and friends. He graduated from Newnan High School in 1958 and has always considered himself to be the best option quarterback to play for the Newnan Tigers. After graduation, he attended Emory University for two years before joining the Marine Corps. Following his military service, he moved to Atlanta where he met his wife, Judith Adams Curbow. After their marriage in August of 1962, Parks and Judy moved back to Newnan. Parks’ personality and genuine interest in people led him to a career in sales as a manufacturer’s rep and a longtime real estate agent. Parks was a man of very strong faith and was devoted to his church, Central Baptist, where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, a member of the Myrtle Arnall Mann Missions and Scholarship Committee and Coordinator of Staff Relations Ministry Team. Parks also taught the Stanley Cauthen Sunday School Class as well as the Kellam Barron Sunday School Class.
