William Peyton “Bill” Winstead III, 66, born on July 15, 1947 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on July 23, 2013, after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. Winstead Jr., and Marjorie Bell Largen Winstead, and his brother, Andrew Allen Winstead. He attended school in Tennessee, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in June of 1969 with a degree in electrical engineering.
In May of 1996, he graduated from Ball State University with a Master’s of Business Administration Degree. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and went on to serve in the United States Army Reserve until May of 1983. He retired from Delphi Automotive in 2000 after 33 years of service. Bill volunteered at Operation Love, and was a member of Eastside Church of God.
William is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, whom he married May 16, 1992, Robin Marie Winstead, children, Jun Lee Winstead John Zieg of Ft. Wayne, William Peyton Winstead IV Michelle of San Marcos, CA, Wendy Jo Miller Anthony of Greenfield, Jamila Ruth Winstead, and Tara Ruth Winstead of Indianapolis; stepmother, Violet Jean Winstead; stepdaughter, Brittany Nichole Hanna of Anderson; grandchildren, Jada, Jordan, and Jessica Zieg, Vance and Liam Winstead, Elizabeth and Anna Miller, Quincy Winstead, Adam Hunt-Winstead, and Kyla Hanna.
