William O. “Bill” Bradley Jr., 81, passed away Friday afternoon November 6, 2015 at UK Medical Center.

Bill was born December 16, 1933 on Hester Ridge in Lewis County to the late William O. “W.O.” and Gladys Howell Bradley.

Bill was a retired surgical technician after working for 52 years at Hayswood Hospital till it closed and then Meadowview Regional Medical Center and Fleming County Hospital. Bill was a member of Helena Methodist Church where he was the treasurer and also attended Mt. Tabor Methodist Church.

Bill proudly served his country in the US Army as an army medic during his tour in Germany when he was discharged from duty he had attained the rank of Sergeant. Bill loved to tell stories, play and listen to music and be outdoors hunting. He and his late wife were well known for being Santa and Mrs. Clause and many different events throughout the area. One of Bill’s proudest moments happened December 16, 2014 when he was inducted in as a Kentucky Colonel.

Bill is survived by his children Jim (Terri) Bradley of Wallingford, KY Charles (Celeste) Bradley of San Antonio , TX and Penny Bradley Brophy of May’s Lick; grandchildren Bryan (Jill), Matthew, Adam (Megan) , Jacob, Jeffrey, Steven and Clayton Bradley, Cody Maggard and Rachel Braunig; great grandchildren Bryce and Blake Bradley; special friend Judy Highfield.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Bailey Bradley, brother Charles A. Bradley and his parents.
