William Martin Fishback, 55, of Jacksonville, IL passed away May 9, 2009 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield, IL
Martin was born February 18, 1954 in Springfield, IL; the son of Bill and Virginia Thompson Fishback. He married Barbara A. Moe on June 28, 1986 in Grand Forks, ND and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Kristen Fishback of Jacksonville; a son, Bill Fishback of Jacksonville; and a sister, Sue Fishback of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Martin was a 1972 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a 1977 graduate of Illinois College. He was employed as an elementary teacher for the Douglas School District at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota for 9 years and later for Jacksonville School District #117 for 11 years. After retiring from teaching, he was engaged in several business ventures. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, reading, cooking, canoing, camping, and music.
