William Maguire was born on July 2, 1937, in County Leitrim, Ireland to William and Bridget (nee Kelegher) Maguire. He died Monday, January 9, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was fondly known as Bill or Willie to friends and family. He worked as a diesel Mechanic as a member of Mechanics Local 701 for many years. In his younger years he was active in playing Gaelic Football and boxing. He enjoyed watching football, soccer, going fishing, walks to the park and telling a good dad joke. He had a great fondness for apple pie.
William is survived by his wife Ita Maguire; children Valerie(Charlie) Maguire, Liam (Margaret) Maguire, Sean Maguire, Brian (Amanda) Maguire, Deirdre (Joey) Gan, Brendan(Shaye) Maguire, Bridget Maguire; his grandchildren Cecilia Gan, Audrey Gan, David Gan, Declan Maguire and Maeve Maguire; his twin brother John (Kathy) Maguire and brother PJ(Nancy) Maguire; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters Christina, Maggie, Mary, Kathleen, Josie, and Nell.
