William M. Mulzet, 81, of Bethlehem Twp., died Friday, August 3, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to Lucy (Fresoli) Mulzet for 60 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Cecelia (Kreitz) Mulzet. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem Twp. A Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, he participated in the Iwo Jima and Okinawa invasions and Japan occupation. He served as an electrical apprentice in the electrical department of the Bethlehem Steel Corp., until transferring to the Homer research labs in electrolytic coatings of light flat rolled steel section until retiring January 31, 1982. He served a term as a loan officer with the Heights St. Joseph-Federal Credit Union. Bill started his golfing career playing at the Old Lehigh 9 hole Golf Course in Bethlehem. When Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course opened, he was a founder, past president and champion of the former Lehigh Valley Public Golfers Assoc. In 1958 he was medalist and champion of the City of Bethlehem and Club Championships. In 1959 he was a medalist and champion of the Lehigh Valley Amateur Golf Tournament held at Green Pond Country Club. He played in the Bethlehem Steel Bypass and Homer Research Golf Leagues. He served on the tournament committee at the Roosevelt Democratic Club Golf Association. He had 2 career hole in ones. He was also a member of the NE Wanders and the American Legion Post 31. Survivors: wife Lucy at home; daughters Lucille Mulzet and her companion Gary Ritter and Michele Klova and her husband Robert all of Bethlehem; sister Julia Pammer of Bethlehem and grandchildren Elyse and Amy.
