William “Bill” Lee Dustman, originally of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away suddenly May 27, 2021 at his home in Ludington, MI. Bill was born January 7, 1943 in Kalamazoo, MI, to the late Oscar Gillmore and Frances (Meulman) Dustman.

Bill was an independent contractor, amongst many other things, including running for mayor of the city of Ludington and working as an auto mechanic. He served as a team leader for the Red Cross, giving several gallons of blood throughout his lifetime, as well as serving as a volunteer fireman for 27 years. He also volunteered for Feeding America, H.E.L.P. Ministries and Community Church.

Bill loved fishing and served on the board of directors for the Michigan Steelheaders for seven years. Bill was a member of a few clubs, including the Kalamazoo Model Railroad Historical Society and Car Clubs. He had a pilot’s license and flew from Traverse City to Kalamazoo after running a pizza parlor that his family owned. He loved anything that had to do with the outdoors and helping people, animals, and even plants.

Bill is survived by his three daughters, Sherry, Pam, and Sara; seven grandchildren; and sister, Carole Hauck.
