William L. Mackin, 87, of Holiday City South, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in Iselin, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. William was a Firefighter for the City of Newark, NJ for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. William was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. and was a member of the VFW.
He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia. William is survived by his wife Dolores (nee Critchley), two daughters Nancy Schofield of Wyoming, DE and Kathleen Lapolla and her husband Charles of Manalapan, NJ, six grandchildren Colleen Lakatos, Megan Andrews, Cara Lapolla, Kristen Lapolla, Charles Lapolla, Elizabeth Schofield and seven great grandchildren.
