William “Poppy” John Enright, Sr., 85, of Lavallette, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday May 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. Bill was born and raised in Jersey City, the youngest son, one of 13 children to Beatrice and Thomas. In 1950 he joined the United States Air Force, served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.
On the second day of his return from Korea, he met his future wife, Marie, at a rollerskating rink. As a Korean War veteran, he was an active member of the American Legion, Brick. Bill and Marie celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past April. A strong work ethic and dedication to his wife and family were the pillars of his life.
Bill is survived by his wife Marie; his eldest son William Jr. and his wife Patricia, daughter Donna and her husband Anthony and son James and his wife Meagan; his 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
