William J. Chubb, “Jack” age 88, a resident of Glen Burnie for 53 years, and formerly of Baltimore, passed away at his home on September 24, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born on June 10, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Florence and Thomas Chubb. After attending Euclid High School in Cleveland, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1945 to 1949. After the service, he worked as the maintenance man at St. Thomas Church in Cleveland, before moving to Baltimore, where he started as an electrician’s apprentice. When an opening appeared in the Baltimore Police Department, he joined the force serving for 42 years until his retirement. He also volunteered as a Lieutenant with the Powhattan Beach VFD from 1971 until 1983. During his free time he enjoyed trips to Rehobeth Beach, camping in Williamsburg, playing golf, watching the Orioles and Maryland Womens Basketball.
Along with his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years: Gloria Chubb; and his brother Thomas F. Chubb, Jr.
He is survived by his five daughters: Carol Gallo and her husband Vince, Barbara LeBrun and her husband Richard, Nancy Cruz and her husband Gus, Jackie Perky and her husband Randy, and Kathleen DeVoe; his three sons: Michael and his wife Margaret, Patrick and his wife Kerry, and Kevin Chubb; his niece Patricia Trifiletti; three nephews: Timothy, Terrence, and Thomas Chubb; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
