William “Osco Bill” J. Erris, 76 of Oglesby, died unexpectedly on August 29, 2016.
Bill was born in Harrisburg on March 13, 1939 to Walter and Margaret (Klucavich) Erris. He served with the US Army from 1962-1964. He was the head manager at Woolworth’s in La Salle for 25 years and then a manager at Osco Drugs in Peru. Bill owned and operated with Becky, his fiancée, the Wheel of Fortune, B & B Restaurant from 1991-1998, and the Koffee Kafe from 2008-2010.
Bill was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed being out in the public and selling raffle tickets for fundraisers. His greatest joy was going to his grandchildrens’ events.
Bill is survived by his fiancée and soulmate of 31 years Becky Balzarini of Oglesby; two stepdaughters Lisa (Nick) Carrico and Betsy Cisek both of Oglesby; grandchildren Anthony (Tamara) Balzarini, Laura (Matthew) Garland, Kristen (Jesse) Petrus, Amanda Balzarini, Kaylee Borostowski, Stephen (Ashley) Borostowski, and Lindsey, Caitlyn, and Matthew Carrico; great grandchildren Madison Garland, Liliyona Borostowski, Bentley Pratt, Lealand Delvalle, and Hayden Leek; one brother Charles Erris of IN; two sisters Barbara Hust of KY and Lucy (Ron) Johnson of IN; nine nieces and nephews; fourteen great-nieces and nephews; and his two dogs Tinie and Sasha.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
