William J. Dean, III, 70, of Hanover Twp., passed away, Sunday, January 4, 2015. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Harris) Dean. They celebrated 44 years of marriage in October 2014. Born in Glenside, Pa., he was the oldest of six children born to the late William J. Jr. and Frances (Gallagher) Dean. He received his B.S. Degree from LaSalle University, an MBA in finance from Rochester Institute of Technology and his Teaching degree from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. William was an Economics and Spanish teacher at Holy Cross High School in Delran, NJ, a Commercial Lender for Union Bank of Bethlehem and Chemical Bank of NY, later, the CFO of Insulation Corporation of American in Emmaus, Pa. for many years and most recently the Business Development Director of Community Action Development Corporation of Bethlehem. In addition, he was an Adjunct Professor of Economics at DeSales University and Northampton Community College. William was an avid reader, gardener and photographer and especially enjoyed traveling with his wife in the U.S and abroad. Survivors: in addition to his loving wife, Mary Jane are his sons, William J. Dean, IV his wife Vera Pinho and their son, William J. Dean, V of Bethlehem; Matthew E. Dean, his wife Jaci and their daughter Mara of Valencia, Pa.; a daughter, Kathryn E. Johnson, her husband Michael and their children, Noah and Olivia of Bethlehem; brothers, Walter Dean of Clyde, NY and Patrick Dean of Oswego, NY; sisters, Sarah Griffis and her husband, Edward of Glenside, Pa. and Frances Saunders and her husband Carl of Seneca Falls, NY. and 12 nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by a sister, Jane O’Doherty.
